넷플릭스는 190여개국에서 2억 2000만명의 유료 멤버십을 보유하고 있는 글로벌 동영상 스트리밍(OTT) 플랫폼이다. 이 중 서울에 위치해 있는 넷플릭스 서울 사무실은 서울 종로구 종각에 위치해 있다.
종각은 방송사 등 제작사들이 있는 상암과도 가깝고, 매니지먼트 회사들이 많은 강남과도 가까운 중간 지점에 위치해 있다. 가장 큰 특징은 서울의 매력이 가장 살아 있는 공간이라는 점이다. 넷플릭스 서울 오피스는 이를 강조하기 위해 내부 또한 고풍스러움과 현대적인 모습을 함께 구현했다.
특히 넷플릭스 서울 오피스는 회의실 공간을 '오징어게임', '킹덤' 등을 따서 지었다. 오피모음회의실 이름에 한국 콘텐츠 이름을 붙였다. '옥자' 회의실도 있다.
이에 대해 넷플릭스 관계자는 데일리임팩트에 "예전에는 해외작품 위주의 이름을 회의실 이름으로 지었다"라며 "하지만 한국 콘텐츠가 전 세계적으로 흥행하면서 한국 콘텐츠의 이름을 회의실 명으로 꾸밀수 있게 됐다"고 설명했다.
한국 콘텐츠 이름을 붙여 회의실명으로 짓는다면 추후 해외 파트너들에게 더욱 한국 콘텐츠가 더욱 주목 받을 수 있다는 설명이다. 넷플릭스 관계자는 코로나 이후 해외 인사들이 더욱 많이 방문할 것에 대해서도 기대감을 드러내기도 했다.넷플릭스 서울 사무소에는 오른쪽 벽면에 포스터들을 붙여놓고 있다. 작품의 콘셉트에 따라 배치한 것으로, 단순 전시용이 아니라 넷플릭스 썸네일로 쓰이기도 한다. 모두 한국적인 부분들을 느낄 수 있도록 인테리어 했다.
또한 서울 오피스에는 두 개의 시사공간이 있다. 두 개의 시사공간 중 하나는 '종로', 한 곳은 '서울'로 명명했다.
종로 시사룸의 경우 아담한 공간으로, 홈엔터테인먼트라는 넷플릭스의 정체성에 맞게 넷플릭스 콘텐츠를 가장 잘 시청할 수 있도록 구현해 낸 공간이다. 실제로 일반 가정집 작은 방 수준의 크기로 만들어졌다.반면, '서울' 시사룸의 경우 상대적으로 크게 구성 돼 있고 4K LED 프로젝터와 돌비 애트모스 사운드가 구현돼 있는 방이다. 일반적으로 아무에게나 공개되지 않는 공간이다.
이성규 넷플릭스 프로덕션 총괄 디렉터는 "4K 엘이디 프로젝터 등은 상당히 앞선 기술이고 음향도 굉장히 좋은 시설로 구비 돼 있다. 그리고 이 방을 매일 상시로 쓰는 것은 아니다"라며 "넷플릭스는 스토리 발굴, 제작, 배급 등을 위해 국내 창작자들 일하는데, 더빙·자막·등을 감독, 내부 기술팀, 직원들과 같이 최종적 체크를 하기 위해 이 방을 활용한다"고 설명하기도 했다.
넷플릭스 한국 콘텐츠 총괄 강동한은 "올해 너무 바쁜 한 해를 보냈고, 한국 콘텐츠가 좋은 소식이 많아서 유독 기분이 좋다"라며 "'지금우리학교는'이라는 콘텐츠가 올해였는데, 느낌이 작년에 나온 것 같았다"라고 말했다.

SKT 리트머스 연구팀은 “여의도는 금융업계가 집중된 지역으로 출근이 빠른 지역이고, 판교는 지하철역 인접 오피스 외에는 지하철 접근이 어려운 업무 지구"라며 "지역 특성상 자가용 또는 지하철·버스를 이용하는 근무자들이 많다 보니 출근이 이른 것으로 보인다”고 말했다.
한편 근무자의 평균 연령이 30대인 업무 지구는 판교가 유일했다.
카카오가 제주도 업무공간을 ‘공동체 협업’을 중심으로 탈바꿈한다.
카카오는 제주국제자유도시개발센터(JDC)와 ‘제주첨단과학기술단지 내 카카오 부지 개발사업의 성공적 추진을 위한 양해각서(MOU)’를 체결했다고 16일 밝혔다. 이를 통해 현재 운영 중인 ‘제주오피스’를 공동체 협업 중심의 업무공간 ‘카카오 제주아지트’로 새롭게 꾸릴 계획이다. 양해각서 체결에는 오지훈 카카오 자산개발실 부사장과 양영철 JDC 이사장 등이 참석했다.카카오 측은 “JDC는 양해각서 체결을 통해 적극적인 상호 협력과 지원을 이어 나가기로 했다”며 “JDC는 신축 시설물 인허가 등 행정절차 지원, 제주첨단과학기술단지 입주기업 및 지역과 연계한 동반성장 모델 발굴 및 지원하게 된다”고 전했다.
